| Privilege Day - Frequently
Asked Questions - (FAQs) |
|
We thought we should take the opportunity to answer some commonly
asked questions about our famous Privilege Days...
|
| Q: |
Why do
you give such short notice of forthcoming privilege days? |
| A: |
We want to make sure that these events are seen as a
genuine benefit to our many card members. We actually lose
money on many of the items purchased, but we believe that
the size of discount offered - plus the fact that the
discount applies to everything we have in stock, with no
exceptions - helps to distinguish our scheme from the many
different store discount cards that are available today (many
with dubious benefits!) . For these reasons we give little
notice of forthcoming privilege card days, but try to balance
the inconvenience caused by holding them fairly regularly over
the course of the year. |
| Q: |
Why can't
I reserve an item before the day and buy it on Privilege
Day? |
| A: |
Please see above answer! |
| Q: |
Why is it so
difficult to speak to a member of staff on the telephone
during a privilege card day? |
| A:: |
McCormack'
s is generally a busy
store, particularly at weekends, and to cope with this we
employ
a fairly large staff (over 30 people). Unfortunately, the
popularity of Privilege Card days means that often we are
simply
overwhelmed by the sheer volume of people coming through the
door. We have considered how to minimise this - ideas
include
having different privilege card days for guitarists,
keyboard
players, sheet music customers, etc, though with the number
of
new privilege card members applying it is a problem we are
unlikely to solve completely, and we are loathe to take on
temporary inexperienced staff. We are very proud of our
staff,
and go to great lengths during recruitment to make sure that
we
only employ nice people who are genuinely interested in
working
with people and helping them make informed choices regarding
their purchases. This relaxed approach is one that we know
our
customers appreciate, and is in contrast to many other
retailers
who have a '
hard-sell'
attitude amongst their staff. If we
are
unable to connect you to the department or staff member you
need
then please leave your contact number with our office staff,
and
we will make every effort to get back to you. We would respectfully ask that people bear with us during these
hectic times, and we certainly sympathise and appreciate your
patience. |
| Q: |
Why does it
sometimes take so long to get served on privilege card days? |
| A: |
Again, please see above answer! |
| We would welcome
suggestions regarding how to improve our privilege card day
experience. If anybody would like to comment on this issue, then
